Journalism starts with a personal opinion

Absolutely free man who isn’t -afraid to express his opinion, whatever it is, self-critical, real – that’s the image of Rubinstein by SMSUH students. —

-Having read before meeting one of the most famous books of the poet and essayist, «Vocabulary,» many students expected to meet a brave nonconformist, who with juicy tart irony censure the vices of modern society. Rubinstein was a man of good, not sarcastic, but skillfully owning the irony, who chose his words with amazing accuracy and sensitivity, not adapting to regimes or conditions. The author gave us pieces of his books: about the Russian language, about — childhood, about — «real» musical instruments, -about SMSUH.

-After reading he was showered with many different questions : he was asked about his opinion of journalism, wondered whether he had any pets, asked to explain some of the authors.

—The debate turned on and the eternal themes of «Journalism , craft or art?», «Can one tell the truth, and how to do it best?» and many others. He — — gave a definite answer to the last question ,that everyone without exception rememembered : «The ability to express their point of view — this is journalism.»

—On the way home, and in pairs on Friday, first-year students discussed the meeting with Rubinstein. He is the man with whom you want to talk, whom — you want to listen to . Lev Semenovich – a writer, you need to read, to enrich your perspective of the world, to understand a little more and view of things clearer.
