Tamara Semenovna Komarova is the head of the department of aesthetic education of Sholokhov Moscow State University for the Humanities, honoured scientist of Russia, Doctor of Education, Professor, member of the International Academy of Science of Pedagogical Education, member of the International — Academy of Education.
School of aesthetic education was formed in several directions:
1. Artistic — aesthetic education of children of preschool and primary school age. Shaping of artistic — creative abilities to the different activities of preschool age children.
The school began to form at the end of 70s of the twentieth century. Tamara Semenovna Komarova created scientifically — based system of graphic activity study in kindergarden for all age groups. It was published in the book «Graphic activity lessons in kindergarden». The first edition was in 1978, than the second and the third editions were published. It was the first manual in our country for practical teachers. The book was published and translated into Moldovan, Kazakh, Kyrgyz and other languages.
This work included the training of scientific personnel, teachers and students of colleges and universities. Scientific — practical activity comes true up till now. This trend has given the name of scientific school of Komarova — «School of aesthetic education.»
2. Organization and management in a system of preschool education: research and practical testing carried out simultaneously with the first direction, and it was also reflected in research and it allowed — to create the concept of management in preschool education area. On this basis, the development programs came true in different directions and several books were prepared.
3. The third area covered the study of the history of pedagogy, pedagogical views, philosophers, artists, starting with origin of the theory of pedagogy since ancient Greece till the twentieth century. Particular attention was paid to studying the history of origin and development of ideas about the education of younger children in Russia and abroad.
New directions of the school of aesthetic education.
The school continues to grow and develop at the expense of bringing lectures, students, applicants and graduate students to the scientific work.
In 2010 the innovation center «New educational technologies and creative development of personality» — was created at the department of aesthetic education. The centre has aroused a great interest among lecturers and students. Such innovative problems as “Information- communicative technology in preschool education”, “Progress of abilities and talents of children” — provoked special interest.
