Graduate’s qualification – master
Forms and terms of education: full-time, 2 years and 5 months.
A graduate gets a modern and prestigious speciality of a teacher-speech pathologist (logopedist, oligophrenopedagogue, deaf-and-dumb pedagogue) or a teacher-psychologist. A graduate can work in various areas of special pedagogics in future.
Types of professional work:
correction-pedagogical, diagnostiс-advisory and preventive, research, teaching, organizational-administrative, cultural-educational activity in public, special (correctional) preschools and schools, clinics and centers of psychological and medical support, in institutes of high and higher professional education, research institutes of education, public health services, social protection.
Areas of professional work of graduates:
• psychological and pedagogical diagnostics-
• education, development and correction of infringements of handicapped person in pedagogical process-
• psychological and pedagogical support of participants of educational process-
• teaching in institutes of high and higher professional education and organization of pedagogical process-
• research activity.
During the preparation of masters of special speech correction in SMSUH special attention is paid to the disciplines aimed at development in graduate’s ability to orientate in various real situations, abilities not only to plan their professional growth, but also realize it successfully. Teaching of management bases, professional communications, economic and social organization of present Russian society, present business etiquette, leadership and team building, life navigation are aimed at it.
Much attention is paid to the development of design thinking not only for solution of design problems in various areas of professional education, but also for overcoming any complicated — situations. This is one of advantages of our graduates.
Status of a graduate of speech correction department of SMSUH is confirmed by the high level of professional skills, special psychological and pedagogical knowledge, so graduates are required on labor market.
Focus on career and professional growth of our graduates is the most important priority of speech correction department of SMSUH. Cooperation with All-Russia society of deaf persons, Russian noncommercial partnership «Commonwealth of the medical-pedagogical and socially-therapeutic organizations» and other professional associations is a distinctive feature of our educational programs. Practical training of students of speech correction department is carried out in preschool centers of compensating type, at special (correctional) public schools, in Moscow and Moscow Region medical institutions.

Previous educational level of an entrant: higher professional education.
