Международная пресса о веб конференции МГГУ-KILAW

В газете Arab Times опубликована статья о международной веб конференции,проведенной 25 апреля факультетом иностранных языков и международных коммуникаций и Юридическим университетом Кувейта (SMSU&amp-KILAW).

KUWAIT CITY, May 31: On April 25, in the presence of the Dean of Kuwait International Law School — KILAW,

Dr Mohammad Al Moqate, and inassociation with the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the International Communications in Sholokhov Moscow State University for the Humanities — SMSU represented by Vice-Chancellor for Research Sergey D. Traytak, and Vice- Chancellor for Innovative Activity and Quality Andrey A. Glazkov, the first international web-conference “Environmental Law: Problems and Solutions” was launched.



The conference aims at exploring the main environmental challenges and efforts in the State of Kuwait and the Russian Federation in legislative perspective. Participants presented the main environmental legislations in both countries and their vital roles in enhancing the efforts of protecting the environment and spreading environmental awareness among the public.
Moreover, participants showed the latest crucial contributions of the major oil companies in both countries, as major global oil producers: Kuwait National Oil Company KNPC and Gazprom of Russia, in reducing their environmentally harmful waste in forms of gas emissions and solid waste.
The conference started with a speech made by the organizing committee represented by Alfred Irshaid — KILAW and Dr Olga Checkun — SMSU addressing the participants and the audience. The agenda of the conference included the following topics:

■ Kuwait International Law School by ZinabMansouri and Omar Al Abduljader.

■ Geographical, economical and political background — Kuwait by Fatemah Al Antari.

■ Kuwait legal obligation towards protecting the environment by Heba Al Khaledi.

■ Kuwait Environmental Public Authority (KEPA) by Meshaal Al Sabah and Salah Al Shammeri.

■ KMPC efforts for environment protection by Suliman Al Quenaie.

■ Individuals’ responsibilities and recycling projects in Kuwait by Hessa Al Ghanem and Dallal Al Tulib.

Students of Sholokhov Moscow State University of the Humanities presented topics about:

■ Introduction about Sholokhov Moscow State University for the Humanities by Glindzhyan Arevik,
Ziganchina Elena, Dudin Artem.

■ The legislative basis for environmental protection in Russia by Volkova Natalia.

■ The position of Russia in the international agreements on Environmental Protection by Terentyeva Maria, Kharitonova Barbara.

■ Implementing environmental friendly technologies in Russia by GilindzhyanArevik, PortnovMaksim, KrolevskiyIlya.

■ Gazprom’s efforts for environment protection by KachaevaYuliya.

■ Recommendations regarding environmental protection in Russia by participant of the conference.

At the end of the conference, Professor Jassem Besharah, formerly the Director General of Kuwait Environmental Public Authority (KEPA) and currently a member of the Kuwaiti Supreme Council of Environment and a lecturer of Environmental Science at KILAW, gave his recommendations to the participants concerning the best approaches and practices of protecting the environment and its key role in sustainable development, which has a great impact on social security, economy and welfare.
