Pedagogical Education (Profile: Music Education)

Program’s training is oriented on secrets’ acquirement of a profession of a music teacher, which is always actual. A graduate will have not only a pedagogic profession, but also a professional performing and music management training.

A wide range of competencies, formed in the process of learning, allows graduates to find their place in the educational, social and cultural sphere. Area of professional activity of bachelors of music education: pedagogical system in the field of musical art and education, musical-pedagogical and educational processes, theory and music history, and related kinds of art, musical performance, educational environment.

Graduate-bachelor has an opportunity to work in the following fields: in a secondary school and the system of additional musical education, pedagogical and administrative activity in educational institutions.

The distinctive feature of bachelors of music education’s professional training at the Faculty of Culture and Music Art in SMSUH is getting (outside of general professional skills, which are provided by the branch of training) skills of a musician and music manager. It allows widening the sphere of professional activity after graduation. —

Also an important part of the course is a study of modern musical-computer technologies.

Admission applicants take creative examination singing or playing a musical instrument or by conducting.

During the training process the following disciplines are learnt:

Psychology, Vocal, Solfa, Harmony, Main music instrument, Music history, Integrative and marketing communications in music art, — Research work’s basis, Music Psychology, Management Psychology, — Pedagogy, Arts’ history, Conflict Management, Modern music industry, Jazz harmony and improvisation, etc.- Composition’s and computer adaptation’s basis, Music recording studios’ technique, Studio management, etc.
