For the first time in Russia in the Sholokhov Moscow State University for the Humanities the master course “Media Education” is opened.

Forms and terms of study: distance – 2,5 years

Graduate’s qualification: Master of Journalism

The cost of training is — in 2013/14academic year – 35 000 rubles a year (fee — has to be paid at the end of each term)

Entrance examinations:
• — — — creative examination (interview) — 50 points

The master’s degree program “Media Education” is focused on graduates, bachelors and masters of higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation and other states, who has no experience or has limited experience in the media education sphere. The graduate of the program receives the degree of Master of Journalism in Media Education and the Russian state-recognized diploma.

Differential characteristics of the content and structure of the program:
the master’s program is, on the one hand, of — applied character and is focused on obtaining concrete skills in the field of the organization of media education, publication of students’ newspapers, magazines, production of radio — and TV programs, creation of digital resources. On the other hand, experts in the field of media education have to possess wide system and fundamental basic knowledge in the sphere of media, information culture, mass communications as a whole. Besides, masters have to have ideas of sources of information, social and cultural spheres, of those transformations which happen today in society. Additional task is receiving by the master knowledge in the field of methods and research methodology of media.
