On October, 30th (2012) methodological seminar «English for Specific Academic Purposes» was held on the department of pedagogics and foreign languages. A scientific representative from Garnet Education Publishing Ollie Twist and the company BookHunter were the organizers. —

Ollie Twist introduced the content, methodological principles, modern methodological approaches, on the basis of that study guides of Garnet Education Punlishing are developed. The group of skilled and highly professional specialists work out study guides that satisfy modern teachers and students’ demand. The problems of effective development of foreign professional communicative copmetency with the usage of such study guides as «50 Steps to Improving Your Academic Writhing» (by Chris Sowton) and «English for Academic Study» series were discussed.

Teachers remarked the ingenuin structure of study guides, its valuable content, that is especially interesting for the faculty of foreign languages, that prepare teachers of foreign languages and translators.
