«The first of the first» contest was held

The faculty of Foreign Languages and International Communication held a traditional contest for the best group of the first course called «First of the first.»
This year, our first course consists of 8 groups: 2 groups of linguists, 4 — teachers of foreign language and 2 — students in «Tourism». Unfortunately, one group did not take part in this show of.
So, the competition was between seven groups, each of which came up with a name, a form and slogan.
The first test consisted in the presentation in the games, musical or theatrical form. It was a real firecracker of talents: students conquered the jury with their fiery dances and songs, demonstrating the ability of each group. The second mandatory part was a small video with the theme of «We are students now!» And then the guys blew the hall again: it was very interesting and fun to look how the first-year students see their life.
After the students were expected the exciting contests, which were designed by leading of this event: two second-year students named Anastasia. Seven groups of first course had to pass a three-game — testing («Words «, «Make a song «, a quiz). At the end each of group scored the fewest points, dropped out of the contest.
As a result, in the final there were group 17 (tourists) and group 15 (teachers) against each other who had to fight in the debates where first-year students had to argue why their specialty is the best.
According to the jury, which was headed by the dean of the Faculty Sviridova Larisa Konstantinovna, the group 17 was the most convincing team.
The winners were rewarded with a sweet prize, diploma and useful training materials for the preparation of interpreters for the Olympics in Sochi.
No group has gone without a consolation prize, though not for that was organized this wonderful celebration of the faculty: we met with the first course, and they are not deceived our expectations — our first-year students are talented, creative and caring.
