Russian Institute for Advanced Study in Humanities and Technology with the Institute for Language and Communications will hold the lecture-seminar ‘An interpreter in the modern world’ that will be led by Pavel Palazhchenko, Soviet — and Russian interpreter, political scientist who was the interpreter for Mikhail Gorbachev and Soviet foreign minister Eduard Shevardnadze. M. Palazcchenko is also a political analyst and author of many books and articles in Russian and foreign newspapers.
At present, M. Palazhchenko is the head of the Press Relations Service and an interpreter in the United Nations, in the Council of Europe and at an international conferences in Russia and other countries.
The workers of the Chair of Translation and Translation Studies and senior students in Linguistics will participate in the lecture-seminar. M. Palazhchenko will share his knowledge and experience with our students telling about his work with the heads of the state and will say who is an interpreter in the modern world.
The lecture-seminar will be held on 19 February (Thursdsay) from 11.00 to 13.00 in «Taganka» building on 1618 Verkhnyaya Radishchevskaya Street
