The first game — the season is open!

Yesterday the first game of 24th Moscow Student Volleyball Games among men’s teams was held. —

And immediately, our team met with a very strong opponent International Academy of Bussiness and Management. Proceeding from the application, all the players of the opponent’s team have completed sports school in the past and have the title of the CMS (Candidate Master of Sports), which, of course, speaks about high training of players. There were only two first-class players. But the more interesting fact which struck me was that Sergei Grankin (MMS — Merited Master of Sports) – the current passer of Russia Volleyball team has been specified in the application too.

No matter how the opponent was strong, our players gave the quite tight fight. The first set was held at the first stable and second power serves of . As a result, the first set: 25-17. Although, as a team player, I can say, «that I’m not in the best form yet» —

In spite of some shortcomings in the game, our volleyball players also attacked quite tight: completely beat the ball to the floor, made the concessions, played out of the bounds from the opponent’s hands, there even were several force serves, which the opponent couldn’t take. But it was clear by all characteristics that the opponent’s team played in half strength and it could grow in strength -any time… The second set ended with a score of 25-13.

In the third set the players of International Academy of Bussiness and Management. just relaxed and allowed some mistakes as in the serve and receiving (the ball), and -in the attack. As a result, on the top of the set we even were able to lead the score 9-10, but then the opponent, gathered with the forces, regained the advantage in his hands. As a result, 25-19.

I can say — «that, in general, I liked this game, because it’s interesting to play with a strong opponent and there is much new to learn.» And our team should train and train more.
