Unlike the general results of our combined team of Russia in Vancouver, their success is particularly rejoicing us. First of all because of systematicity.

In SMSUH skiing is selected as the leading kind of sport, which is taught on the highest level of skill. Associate Professor of the department of Physical Education Kaminsky Yuri Mikhailovich is working with our skiers according to a special program. Department of Physical Education of the University was involved in the development of this program. It is fundamentally different from programs of other Russian skiers. The basis of trainings is its location in the conditions of Middle Mountains. Scientific research is conducted, training program is constantly being improved.

Professor Madzhuga Vladivlen Ivanovich and Associate Professor Malinovski Alexander Pavlovich (Department of Physical Education of SMSUH) also took part in the development of the program.
Individual learning schedules approved by the Academic Council of Moscow SMSUH are developed for the sportsmen. Sportsmen pay a lot of attention to the scientific side of sports life, studying the physiology, biochemistry, and foreign languages, get advice from leading experts at the University.

Within the training of the Olympic reserve Sochi 2014 46 skiers are trained in SMSUH. They are — all students of different faculties of SMSUH. Among them there are16 masters of sports and 4 world-class athletes. All of them are involved in top level competitions and are champions of Moscow, Russia, prize winners of the World Student Universiade and the World Youth Championships.

While our cross-country skiers win the Olympics in Vancouver, the Olympic reserve of SMSUH win other competitions. So February 15-19, 2010 students of SMSUH won — all kinds of ski programs in ski racing competitions in Moscow Student Games, which were attended by 56 top Moscow universities. — Team of SMSUH won men’s 4×10 km relay, beating the team of the University of Physical Culture by 4 minutes and the team of Moscow State University by 8 minutes.
