Separate collection. The day of joint actions

The students of the Faculty of Ecology and Natural Sciences took part in the event «Separate collection» on February 7th. Our partner «ECA green movement» was the organizer of this event! Our task included garbage collection and sorting (paper, glass, Tetra-Pak, some sort of plastic materials). Altogether 20 points of waste collection were opened in Moscow and Moscow region! We were working next to our building in Lyublino.

We were prepared for this event in advance. We hung up the leaflets, announced about it on the Internet, learnt the information about separate waste collection and waste treatment, prepared required containers for garbage.
But we did not expect that this action attracted so much attention!

The action took place from 12 to 15. During this time, about 20 people brought us their «reserves» of waste products. It was interesting to watch the children, who enthusiastically helped to sort all the boxes! There were especially many plastic bottles and waste paper. At the end of the action «The field of ecology» company took away the collected waste. Then it will be sent for recycling and correct disposal.

It was nice to help people to sort things correctly and answered questions about the separate collection. We hope that such actions will become a tradition in our new building «Lyublino»!
