Russian language and Russian literature in the world cultural space. Values and meanings

Sholokhov Moscow State University for Humanities invites you to take part in the VI international scientific and practice conference “Russian language and Russian literature in the world cultural space. Values and meanings” which is to be held on 2-3 October 2014.

The main directions of the conference:

1. The Russian language as one of the world’s languages: its current state and development perspectives. Sociolinguistic issues of the functioning of the Russian language in the modern world.

2. Russian literature as the national heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation.

3. Ethnolinguistic vitality of the Russian language and literature.

4. Traditions of Russian literature in the works of national writers.

5. The role of the Russian language in the development of intercultural connections between Russian Federation and the counties of near and far abroad.

6. The main factors and tendencies of formation and development of bilingualism and multilingualism.

7. Language of Russian classics.

8. The Russian language and literature in the educational system of the countries of near and far abroad.

9. Intercultural dialog in the textbooks of Russian language and literature for secondary and higher educational institutes.

10. Russian literature in the countries of far abroad: methods of teaching and learning, translation issues of Russian literature into other world languages, value of Russian literature and its global importance.

11. Phenomenon of Russian literature abroad: Russian centers, Russian periodicals and media (radio, TV, internet) in other countries and their activity in the cultural and historical context of XIX-XXI centuries.

12. Communication theory and realization of its ideas in the Russian language and literature teaching system.

13. Traditions of Russian literature in other world literatures, features of their implementation, their transformation and development.

14. Russian literature teaching issues in secondary and higher educational institutes.

15. Reading issues of children and youth.

16. Consolidating role of the Russian language in Eurasian space.

17. Axiological problems in the contemporary studies of literature.

18. Days of Slavic Written Language in the European countries.

19. The international significance of Lermontov’s works. (The writer’s anniversary)

There are two possible forms of participation in the conference – full-time and part-time. Applications for participation and articles are accepted till September 1st 2014 via e-mail. E-mail address is erof.2014@mail.ru. You should mark applications and articles with the note “Materials for conference”.

Drafting committee has the right to refuse to publish an article. Publication cost per page – 200 rubles.

See the application form in annex 1. Application and article should be sent by two separate sub-files: Application.Lastname.doc and Article.Lastname.doc. Publication volume – 5-6 pages.

Registration of participants from 10 till 11am. Conference starts at 11am.
